Well it sure has been a while since we put up a blog post, hasn’t it? Things have been CRAZY AND WONDERFUL here, and that might just be the understatement of our year.
Two big changes came to The PB &J Fund a few months back.
First: we opened the doors to The PB &J Kitchen– the official home of our offices and programming on East Market Street, across from the Downtown Library. We could not be happier with the way the project turned out thanks to MANY amazing partners. This happiness is renewed each and every week when the kitchen is filled with smiling kids, delightful smells from the stove, as well as the general warm glow of gratitude for getting to know each and every one of our kids and community partners as we start this next exciting chapter as an organization. Please check out this AMAZING post about the new Kitchen by the talented ladies at Beyond the Flavor. Because quite frankly, they say it perfectly.
Secondly, we welcomed a new member to our team: Lucy Wampler: the Director of Smiles and Happiness Coordinator. Her new-ness to the field took much of my time in these last months…leaving little time for things like blog posts and timely email correspondence.
In all seriousness, the biggest THANK YOU I can muster without crying to The PB &J Fund, who over the last five years has really become my second family– for allowing me to take this time with my little one. These last few months you’ve taught Lucy so much more about generosity, community and selflessness than I ever could have. And for that I will be forever grateful. Let’s get back to work!
Hope to see you soon,
