TBT- Throw back to 4 moments of pure GRATITUDE this Spring…

All things are quiet at The PB &J Fund as the Spring has just come to a close.  Even with summer camps knocking on our door, I thought reflecting on some of our favorite moments these last couple of months was in order.

We are so grateful for…

1.  Chef Harrison Keevil, the staggeringly talented and kind chef from Brookville, bringing fun and competition to the last day of Monday’s class last week.  Closing out the YEAR LONG “Around the World” unit with 2 boxes of identical Charlottesville fresh, delicious produce, chicken and goat cheese– he challenged the kids to create a complete meal.  Watching them work independently and create completely different and delicious dishes was beyond a treat.  They rose to the occasion with such grace, talent, skill and flavor.  It might have been one of my favorite moments to witness at PB &J in the last 6.5 years.  Not to mention, we are still dreaming about the tarragon vinaigrette, crispy kale, strawberry goat cheese dipping sauce and curry chicken…mmmm…

1.  This INCREDIBLE video made with the fantastic ladies at Light House.  It was used to create a delicious recipe sent by our Tanzanian pen pals, as well as send a video message to them.  Beautiful.

1.  Receiving a Golden Trowel Award from the City Schoolyard Garden.  Such a warm sense of community on a rainy evening at Clark last week.  An extremely humbling moment for PB &J to be recognized by this exceptional organization we are honored to call a partner.

1.  Finally getting a chance to reflect and thank Harvest Moon Catering for the partnership they offered us this Spring.  From underwriting our first fundraising dinner at the Kitchen to this moment in their kitchen where the kids watched in awe and excitement as cream and berries turn into ice cream in seconds.

It’s no mistake that they are all listed as #1…
