Turkey Patty Melt

Ingredients
 16 slices multigrain bread
 8 slices 2% cheddar cheese
  cup deli mustard
 cooking spray
For the onions
 2 medium onions, thin slice
 2 tbsp olive oil
 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
For the patties
 2 lbs lean ground turkey
 1 tsp ground thyme
 1 tsp onion powder
 1 tsp garlic powder
 1 tsp smoked paprika
 ½ tsp black pepper
Method

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

Prepare onions:
a. Slice onions and mix with oil and vinegar.
b. Spread evenly on a parchment lined baking sheet.

Shape ground turkey into 8 even patties.

Mix all spices in a small bowl.

Sprinkle ¼ teaspoon of the spice mixture on each side of the patties.

Place patties on a lined baking sheet. Cook for about 15-20 minutes, until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.

Assemble sandwiches:
a. 2 slices of bread
b. Spread 2 teaspoons mustard on bread
c. Add 1 patty, 1 slice cheese and divide onions evenly among sandwiches

8

Spray skillet with non-stick cooking spray. Grill sandwiches for 3-5 minutes per side over medium heat.
