Recipes are a major part of what we do at PB&J! They offer a framework for our students to learn healthful eating and cooking techniques. Our recipes are nutritionally analyzed by our registered dietitian. We adhere to the USDA’s MyPlate nutrition guide and utilize the We Can! GO, SLOW, and WHOA Foods method. Check out each recipe’s stoplight icon to see its color!
WHOA (foods you should only eat on special occasions)
SLOW (foods you should eat less often)
GO (you can eat almost anytime)
We introduce our participants to culturally diverse foods, promote flexible recipes that can accommodate dietary preferences or restrictions, and focus on affordable recipes (many costing less than $10 to feed a family of four). Experimenting and customizing is part of cooking! Any changes to the recipe may impact taste and healthfulness!
