Join the PB&J Family to Make a Difference in your Community!
Volunteers are an essential part of PB&J’s culinary and nutritional programming and food distribution activities. Volunteers increase our organizational capacity through their investment of time and energy, but the real magic happens in the relationships that are formed with youth and families.
We are seeking volunteers who can commit to serving at least one day per week, Monday through Friday, for two hours over a full semester. The ideal volunteer is engaging, has high-energy and a passion for working with kids! No culinary experience is required, but an enjoyment of cooking is a plus. Volunteers help to assist in our kitchen during classes by supporting with setup, preparation of recipes and classroom supervision, and cleanup. We also have a one-time volunteer opportunity in December to support Holiday Giving. To learn more please contact Tracey Roberts, our Volunteer Specialist, by calling (434) 244-3317 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.

"If you enjoy working with children and cooking, you’ll meet interesting staff and volunteers that have a strong commitment to the Charlottesville community.”JoAnn Robinson
“It’s truly been the best experience of my three years at UVA. The kids and staff are great and really give you a different perspective on life. It doesn’t feel like 'work' when you’re in the kitchen cooking with such energetic, enthusiastic people."Caroline Pham
