Ingredients
 16 slices, whole wheat bread
 6 large eggs
 1 tbsp sugar
 ½ tsp cinnamon
 ½ tsp vanilla extract
 ¼ tsp nutmeg
 ¼ tsp salt
 2 cups 1% milk
 8 tbsp maple syrup
 4 bananas, sliced thinly
Method
1

Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Set a wire rack on a lined baking sheet. Arrange bread on rack, in single layer, and toast in oven for about 10 minutes, flipping halfway through.

2

Slice bananas and set aside.

3

In a large mixing bowl whisk together eggs, milk, sugar and spices until well combined. Pour into shallow baking dish.

4

Dip each slice of bread in egg mixture, leaving in batter for about 30 seconds on each side. Move slices after dipping to a sheet pan.

5

Spray a large skillet with non-stick spray. Heat over medium heat. Cook bread, until browned, about 3 minutes on each side.

6

To keep finished French Toast warm while cooking remaining slices, place in 200 degree oven on a sheet pan covered loosely with tin foil.

7

Serve 2 slices with ½ of a banana (sliced) and 1 tablespoon of maple syrup.
